In 2025, William and the brand moved to Pennsylvania, USA, where much of the production now lives as well — though it still remains strongly connected to its English roots and inspiration. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStandard \u0026amp; Strange carried some stock from Tender almost a decade ago, back when we were just a single store in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood, and we’re very pleased to be bringing it back into our lineup in 2026. It’s a brand we feel particularly fond of, and one that fits really well alongside so many of the other small and artisanal brands we carry — creating styles unlike anyone else we’ve encountered at a remarkably high quality, with a deep passion for craft at every level of production. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Fall\/Winter ‘26 collection features a selection of our favorite things from Tender: 16oz selvedge denim, oversized wool jackets, flowy shirts, botanical dyes, and heavy-duty construction. Notably this season, every piece has been cut “sideways” (with the fabric laid out long instead of tall), allowing for wider panels and turning horizontal stripes into vertical ones. The whole set is really meant to be lived in, getting better and better as things break in, dyes fade, and creases set, forming to your body and lifestyle as you wear it. Though the proportions can look particularly exaggerated when Tender’s pieces are photographed flat, we encourage you to come try some on and get a feel for the excellent fits, and to see how naturally the garments move with you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA \"Galloon\" is the decorative braid or stripe often sewn into uniforms and some tuxedo trousers, the latter of which are most recognizably finished with a black galloon along the outside of each leg. Tender's Galloon Trousers opt for a more utilitarian interpretation of the galloon, reimagining them as reinforced patches on the outside of each leg, giving a very robust straight leg silhouette and a structured drape. They've got a somewhat oversized waist, with a high rise and the aforementioned straight leg fit, somewhat reminiscent of military fatigues. They feature four pockets, a button fly, thick cuffs, and are sewn up with sideways fabric panels, giving the twill a unique horizontal angle.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe “Carpet Twill” is a custom woven wool\/cotton blend fabric that combines cotton warp yarns with high slub woolen weft yarns, resulting in a fabric that is plush, warm, and sturdy. The wool yarns are coarsely-spun, and would generally be used in carpet weaving, chosen for their thickness and durability — here they’re balanced with a smoother cotton, reducing the overall roughness of the fabric and providing a bit more rigidity and structure to the twill weave. Thick and slightly stiff at first, it will soften and relax a bit with time as things break in from wear, and that same thickness helps with the excellent insulation this fabric offers. It's sewn up with 100% cotton threads selected to shrink during washing and emphasize puckering through the seams, then finished with a rinse to handle the initial shrinkage and soften the fabric slightly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOversized fit through the waistband, see our measurements before ordering.
