The leather is \"directional\" cut, meaning that each piece for each boot is cut from the best part of the hide for that piece, rather than trying to fit the most parts per hide. This leather needs virtually no break-in, and is pretty much immediately comfortable on the foot. As an undyed leather, there will be natural variations in color, texture and grain, and there may be small marks, nicks, spots on the boots when new — this is normal, and is not a considered a defect or a blemish.
